Any subsequent offence by the batting side results in a five-run penalty.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/>The rule exists because spikes can damage the surface and create rough patches or footmarks, which could significantly affect conditions later in the match.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"34\"\/>India A&#8217;s repeated breaches therefore cost them 10 runs, all of which were added to Sri Lanka A&#8217;s total before the chase even got underway.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"36\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Shedge, Nigam rescue India A<br \/><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"38\"\/>Earlier, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again provided India A with a brisk start before failing to convert it into a substantial score.
