As NEET Re-Exam Nears, Two Young Aspirants Die By Suicide In Delhi And Dehradun

India’s highly competitive NEET examination has once again come under focus after two aspirants from Delhi and Dehradun died by suicide within days of each other. A 17-year-old student from Delhi reportedly left behind a note apologising to her parents and expressing regret over not meeting expectations after appearing for NEET on May 3. In Dehradun, a 23-year-old aspirant preparing for the NEET re-examination also left a brief note expressing love for her parents and disappointment over her academic journey. Police in both cases said investigations are underway and no evidence of foul play has emerged so far. The incidents have renewed concerns about the intense pressure faced by students preparing for competitive examinations.
